Key fob problem

2012 1.7 CDTi Mk III Main Key fob worn so purchased a replacement case and transferred all 'the bits'. New fob now opens & locks doors, boot etc. It will turn over the engine but does not start. No problems using the spare fob. Any ideas?

My June 22 1.6 hybrid Sportage has locked me out
of the car twice, this is when you have to remove
The rear part of the driver’s handle to expose the
Key lock ( what a pain it can be ) when you open the
Door with the key blade You have to press the
battery button on the dash to start the car. It is
used a daily basis.
Anyone know what the problem is and how to
Stop it happening again ???
