Drivers seat side panel popping off

Hi All
I am new to Kia and have never experienced anything like this.
I owned the car for only about 6 weeks when the side panel popped off the drivers seat (sliding legs round, squishing seat down to exit). I’m not short (5”7) but it was a little hop down. I tried clipping it back on a few times but wasn’t successful. Anyway, life (new job, building work, school holidays) got in the way and I thought oh well, there’s 7 years warranty, the first MOT is due in Sept, I’ll get it sorted then.

They’ve refused under warranty saying it’s normal wear and tear. Clearly in hindsight I should have gone straight back to the dealership (same place as service dept) I bought it from, at the time, but was lulled into a false sense of security by the warranty.

Oh, and now realise the air cooled seat doesn’t work. As it was cool when I bought it, I never used it prior to the panel popping off. They are looking into this separately (booked the car in for a day) and I’ve yet to be advised whether it will be covered under warranty.

Any helpful insights anybody? TIA
